Hello Hurricane
you can't
silence my love
Speak up or die
Tammie says Smile!

Hello there, Stranger!
Welcome to my humble little blog.

The name's Tammie, but friends call me Tam (not 'thumb').

Who am I, you ask?
I'm not that smart top-scorer girl in your class.
I'm not that pretty lass you always see on the streets either.
I am passionate, stubborn and emotional.
My absolute most favorite thing to do is hanging out with people I care & love.
My passion burns for Jesus & photography.
I wish to travel more and see more.

This blog was created so I get to jot down my feelings.
Happenings in life.
That is, if I'm not too lazy to update ;)

Day #6 Your best friend
Okay!
I exchange topic for day #6 and day #7. I have a valid reason for doing so.
Because my day today was basically sleep, eat, cook, go online, sleep, eat and online again. How interesting =.=

Hence, I shall blog about my best friend.

As some of you know, my family don't stay put in a place for long. We're always moving. That explains why I don't have a life long best friend. I always think of my life as different stages.
And that is why I have 'many' best friends. If that's even possible.

But if I am to choose just one.. I would say Cynthia.
Me&Cyn

Don't get me wrong, I do have other awesome friends like Nancy and Stephanie.. But Cynthia and I have been friends the longest and we still do keep in touch, until today. Which is amazing, given the fact that my family moves like a circus =.=''

I remember the first time I meet Cynthia.
It was during Sunday School and we were 12 years old. I just moved to Melaka that time.

She smiled at me. That's how our friendship begin.

Cynthia warned me before that she was 'small gas'. I didn't believe her.
After 9 years of friendship, I found out there were times she was right, about bring 'small gas'. haha, Cynthia darling, if you are reading this, don't get mad! Read finish first ;)

One thing I admire about this girl is that she is talented. She can really cook. I've tasted her fruit salad and fruit jelly and they are AWESOME! :D I love love her cooking. Cynthia is also very good in decorating and drawing. There was one Christmas that she made jelly for all of her friends and when I got mine, I was so surprised and happy.

Cynthia loves Christmas. Piano. Her Ah Mak (grandma). My sister, Rachel. Her boy.
She's an emotional person, like me. Little things can make her very 'fan' and little things can make her cry.

I love the way she laugh. I love the way she choose to be as innocent as a child.

Our couple tee ;)

We don't share much in comma except for out faith, age and love for my sister :)
But that's what's amazing isn't it? We only share little similarities, yet we still remain best friends for 9 years.

oh and she loves to post photos of Hello Kitty without her eyes, like this:
creepy right?
but this is so Cynthia XD

Cynthia Hang Hui Xin, I <3 ya! and I hope our friendship will continue to grow :)

Day #5 Your definition of Love

My definition of love: The most simple yet complex feeling in human beings.

I love this quote about love:

"Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered.
It keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices in the truth.
It always protects, always hopes, always preservers."

If you want to know whether that someone loves you, just go through that quote.
It's the most perfect and complete description of love.

I say love is the simplest because every baby born learns to love without anyone teaching them how to love.
Humans need love. A baby growing up without love will end up being a Feral child, like Genie. I almost cried reading about her on Wikipedia.

It's the saddest thing that can happened to any human, to live life without experiencing love.

I say love (especially romance love) is complex because it makes us feel confuses and uneasy at first. That's because we do things we don't understand for the person we love. But slowly, it starts to give a warm and happy feeling.

You know what is the ultimate act of love?
It's to die for someone you love. THAT is the action that just shouts 'I LOVE YOU' more then people who says 'I love you' a thousand times but don't show it in action.

He died for me. And you. JC. And that's why I understand love :)

Day #4 What you ate today
I had tuna bread for breakfast :D

In case you think tuna stinks, think again. Mum makes the best tuna. She puts apple in them. Amazing right? lol.
This is not my photo, I just want to show the apple bits in the tuna.

I love tuna because of those apple bits :D
Apple helps balance out the fishy smell in tuna. It's AMAZING. Try it next time. hehe.

For lunch, I cooked!
I did baked beans with cubes of potato. One of my favorite, 'cause anything with tomato sauce is amazing :D
Photo not mine.
But my baked beans looks as amazing as the photo above. lol.
I cooked another dish, veggies. Not interesting, so I won't blog about that. *smug*

Next, for dinner I had fried rice! It was those Chinese restaurant fried rice, mind you. Dad came back from work with it. I was jumping for joy. Well, not literally.

by this time, you should be aware that none of these photos belong to me. lol.

It's funny how restaurant cooked fried rice and home cooked fried rice differ so much in taste. They do!

In between lunch and dinner I had a few snacks. Mum brought home some pao.
I love them 'cause they have eggs inside :D

the ones I had doesn't look like this, but these pao are the only ones with egg inside, so I uploaded this pica.

Mmm..yummeh :D

I also had Paddle Pop's vanilla ice cream with chocolate strips. Lava, is it's name. The one in a tub, not on stick. heh.

Now I feel fat. Urgh. But I love what I ate today. haha.

Day #3 Your Parents
lol.

I thought I'd start this blog post with this funny photo of my dad & mum.
This was taken during the eve of Chinese New Year, and dad drink a little wine, which resulted in his red complexion
He's not drunk. His skin turns red by alcohol.
Even a tinsy bit.
.
Hmmm.. I can't really explain why he has that hilarious shell-shock expression on..
Maybe he was a wee bit drunk.
lol.

Here's a much serious photo :)
CNY morning.

As I've mentioned before, both my mum and dad are teachers.
My mum teaches primary school and my dad teaches secondary.

Let's start with mum.
Here's mum at work.
During one of her course, with kid's work.

Mum's the nature lover.
She loves gardening, recycling and reading.
She's a pure Chinese.
By saying that I meant, she is familiar with Chinese writing, literature and poems all that.
(I am not =.=)

My mum brings tiffin carrier whenever she goes out to buy food. She hates Styrofoam.
Whenever I come home with a new plastic bag, she would start morning.
lol. Jokes.
She wouldn't mourn, but she'd say things like 'I've raised you for 19 years, haven't you learn by now that plastic is NOT environmental friendly?!?'

It's because of mum that I develop a strong dislike for Styrofoam as well :)

Now to dad.
Here's me and dad.

If you notice, dad's kinda short. Hehe.
But he's adorable that way.

One of my earliest memory of dad is him doing his paper work. I was sitting on a bed on the floor and playing by myself.
Apparently, I found out that dad was doing his masters assignment that time, and mum was away on a course, so he was taking care of me. Haha.

If I can describe my dad in one word, it would be 'talented'.
As a teenager, dad taught himself to play guitar.
He plays like a pro now at 50.

Apart from music, dad has a flair in art.
He did a few drawing and painting which still hangs on our house's wall.

When I was younger, I had no idea how fortunate I was to have such amazing parents.
But now, I can say I am blessed to have them as my parents.
To share their DNA, and to have received their love and affection for 20 years.

Thank you ma & pa :)
I love you guys! :D

Day #2 Your First Love
This is an interesting topic and I have a few answers for this.

As a girl, I'd like to say my first love was actually more like puppy love.

I still remember it. He was sitting on the same morning bus as me. We go to the same school. But different class if I'm not mistaken. These memory are vague because well, we were only 6 years old that time XD

Lol. Hey, the title did state 'first'.

So, during those mornings, I would go on the bus, take my sit like any normal person. After awhile, I would turn slightly and take a peek through the sit's gap to have a look at him.
Tammie: 'Hello! I'm your 6 year old stalker' X)

One thing funny, don't ask me his name because I can't even remember that. haha. I guess I fell in like with him because he looks cute. Yeaaah, I am that shallow back then. 6. Can you imagine =.=

Okay, so for real love, and not puppy love, the first love I felt for another person must be my little sister :)

When she was still a baby, I love her 'cause she looks so adorable and tiny, and that we share same kind of DNA.

But now, I love her when she acts stupid like the above picture XD

She was a gift to me from my parents. She brighten up my days (even though I'm pretty sure she messed up more then she brighten up =.=)

I know I love her because I tried imagining life without her, and I felt that if she was taken away from me this moment, I would go into an emotional breakdown. Seriously. I just can't imagine life without her.

My baby sister <3
I love you.

xoxo,
tam

Day #1 Introduce Yourself

Hi. I am Tammie. Actually, my real name is Ming Ai.

My parents name me Tammie ever since I was born, but they fail to register my name as Tammie so officially, I'm Ming Ai. Call me whichever you want, but I'm more comfortable with Tammie.

There. That's the most basic thing about myself.

When I was still very young, I remember asking my mother when my birthday was. She told me August 3rd. I remember repeating it to myself in case I forgot. In the end, I felt victorious whenever someone asked my birthday and I manage to answer them even before they finish the question sentence.

Also, because of this, I ALWAYS (and still do) find people who's birthday are on the 10 or 20 something date very hard to remember. I used to wonder why don't they just have birthdays on single digits day. Like 1st to 9th. So much easier to remember.
So now you know why I can't really remember people's birthday?

I always wanted to be a younger child. But as fate would have it, I was born the first. Eldest of the family. I used to constantly complain to my mother 'Why am I the first born? I want an older brother to look after me, not me looking after a younger brother.' My mum would dismiss my question with answers like 'I was born the eldest too, it's not something we can control.' I was never satisfy with this answer, maybe it was too deep for a child that time. I would continue to grumble and question.
Once, my mum finally said 'Being the eldest, you got ALL the love and affection from both dad and me'
That shut me up proper.

As a kid, I always believe I was more 'special' then others. Not in a good way or a bad way. Just a neutral 'special'.
Why?
One, because I hold the pen by my left hand. Ever since started I learning to draw and write, I have used my left hand, I don't know why.

Both my parents are teachers. How many kids have their moms in the same school as them?
I used to envy kids who have lunch brought to them by their mums from home. From then, I vowed I would never be a teacher, but be like those mums bringing food to their kids during recess. I still would like to do so.

I have developed great love for God, photography, chocolate and lame jokes.

Tam doing what she loves best :)

Okay, so basically, I've covered all the important thingys about me. I hope you're still awake X)

Final Project: Colour Studies FASHION SHOW!!
Yesterday was exhausting. We had a fashion show as our final project for the subject Colour Studies.

So yesterday at 1pm-6pm, on level 3 Block PC of UTAR PJ, you get to see many colourful, exotic, weird, funny costumes design. The theme of our fashion is 'NATURE'.
My group did 'Day and Night'. Our work was kinda disappointing because it was *sadly* last minute job, and our costume is not as impressive as others >_<

But you guys won't get what I mean by fashion show until I share some pictures.
So here you go, enjoy! :D

The make up.

Measuring and cutting the cloth.

Make up, done!

clouds on her face, because she's portraying 'Day'

kissy kiss? :X

<3 the concept

Okay, I know this is not the best modeling picture around, but my models are just tired and worn out
after 5 hours+ of waiting for our presentation,
so forgive them :)

hehe, yew (group leader) posing with Ting (female model's) hair for meeeee XD

The male model.
The mask was suppose to make him look mysterious as he's portraying 'Night'.

So this is his cape.
Those are real lights, you know, the one you see on Christmas trees XD

Time to introduce the other groups:
Models for group 'Disaster: Storm and Tornado'
This was the best model couple for the day!

I forgot the name of this group..but it has something to do with flowers.
lol.

Group for 'Insects and Flowers'
bumble bee! XD

'Flower' group.

'Sky- Thunder and Rainbow'

The group for 'Beast & Wings'
but they already took of their wings.lol.

The butterfly group. lol.

This group did the best I guess, judging from their outfit.
'Roses' was their theme I guess.. kind of forgot. haha.

I absolutely love the female model's dress:
It doesn't look like it's made from amateur students :O

Our tutor, Ms Maithrery and lecturer, Ms Haw are judges of the day.
Ms Haw: 'I want more expression!'
Ms Maithrery: 'Ya ya, 0 marks!'
lol. jokes.

Beast vs Butterfly
X)

'Stand still everyone!' Ms Maithrery (pronounce as My-three)

Group pica!
All 12 groups, 12 themes of Nature and 24 models :)

We were so busy setting up,sewing, fixing that we skip lunch. Everyone was super tired, but we had to go on. Lots of drama happened. But in the end, we all went back feeling lighter. Because that was our FINAL project!

No more assignments, no more presentations. Weeeee!
But this also means I won't be able to see some of our tutors & lectures anymore.
Let's hope I'll still be able to have the same tutorial class with my gang :D

Bye bye Drawing 1 :)
We'll meet again in Drawing 2, year 1 sem 3.

Buh-Bye, Mr Fairuz (one of the coolest tutor around)
Buh-Bye Digital Photography :')
See you in Digital Imaging, year 2 sem 2.

It's been a fun semester.
Let's let the memories stay.
