Hello Hurricane
you can't
silence my love
Speak up or die
Tammie says Smile!

Hello there, Stranger!
Welcome to my humble little blog.

The name's Tammie, but friends call me Tam (not 'thumb').

Who am I, you ask?
I'm not that smart top-scorer girl in your class.
I'm not that pretty lass you always see on the streets either.
I am passionate, stubborn and emotional.
My absolute most favorite thing to do is hanging out with people I care & love.
My passion burns for Jesus & photography.
I wish to travel more and see more.

This blog was created so I get to jot down my feelings.
Happenings in life.
That is, if I'm not too lazy to update ;)

Moving
It's been a tiring but fulfilling weekend.

I dread to think it's time to move. 29th December. I use to think that's still a long time..but now, it's only tomorrow.

Jojo, Karnee, Ashley, Nancy, Li Theng, XinYing, Le Qing, Cynthia, WeiSheng, HueySheng, what am I going to do without you guys?? My trips to Jonker and church and school and everywhere else in Melaka was brighten by all of your existence :)

I am emo-ing becuase I dunno what will happened after I move. Will our friendship suffer? Will we be as close as before? I hope we do. I sincerely hope so. I'm going to miss you guys. It's not easy to find friends like all of you who are willing to send me back every time we go out. Who will always be there to laugh and joke and talk seriously to.

Xuen ,2009

SMK Munshi Abdullah, 2009

Packing doesn't help me cheer up either.. :'(

But emo-ness aside, I finally got to play paint ball! XD
It was awesome.
Minus the vegetable oil that got in my mouth and eyes, the few bruises everyone got and the hot weather.. everything was great!
John and Victor suffer some minor bleeding though :S (Get well soon guys!)

I learn to dislike the feeling of being shot at. You feel a sudden hot sting and that's it, you're ded (as the marshals call it, not dead)

What's so awesome about paint ball is getting to aim and shoot other people.
The joy of hitting a target is addictive. *evil laughs*

It was nice finally meeting MingSheng and his friends. They were fun. But next time, we really need 2 cars. Hope you guys enjoyed it here :)

My thing
Oh, how I love cameras.
Polaroid, dSLR, SLR, Compact point and shoot, waterproof camera..the list goes on.

I fell in love with photography because I a have a thing for pictures.
How pretty a picture turns out.

How the model looks so doll like.

How the photographer manage to catch the emotions on the subject's faces.
happiness

sadness

tears

love and protection

or just pure cuteness
:3

I think, of all my 5 senses: touch, taste, smell, hearing and sight, I am in tune with sight the most. As much as I'd like to say my dad as the hearing (musical talent), I don't. I can't play any instrument well enough to pass. lol.

I don't know why.. but ever since I was a little cry baby, I've come to 'watch and learn'.

I remember dad use to have this photography book.

It's one of those oversize hardcover book that's way too big for a then-6-year-old-me to carry. The book tells all about photography. How to play with the lighting and all the way to the technical stuff. Really technical, its geeky.
The 6 year old me don't even understand what the book is talking about, but I would flip open the book every time I'm bored, just to have a look at the pictures.

I guess it was then I fell in love with photography for the first time- unaware.

Then for the last 10 years of my life, I completely forgot about photography. About those pictures that each tells a story.

Until now.

I'm not saying that I love carrying heavy, attention seeking cameras around.
No, that part I don't like.
But when you love something enough, the little things that you don't like wouldn't bother you.

Anyway finally, my parents allow me to get my own dSRL!! *happy dance*
And like everyone before me, I'm having a split headache of thinking Canon or Nikon??
I love Nikon's dSLR but the model I want is already taken by my awesome cousin, Kath. Bahhh..

So I'm thinking of Canon now. (Yes, I switch sides! Tammie the traitor)
Canon EOS 450D. So.. any comments about this model? :S

How my mum's clothes hanger made us RM3K richer!
First off, I'm sorry for not replying all my FB/blog comments and stuff. I just came back from KL.

It was the most energy draining trip I ever made. Our (mum, me, sis and bro) journey starts at 5am. By bus. Then we continue on taxi til we reach Menara PNB

*ta-da*
The PNB tower.

See?
PNB stands for Permodalan Nasional Berhad.
Lots of people ask me what's PNB and honestly, I only know it has something to do with investment and m$on$ey. Heeehee.. But now I can tell you loud and proud what is it's full name.
PNB is basically a fund management company - the biggest in Malaysia, in fact. According to Wikipedia.

So I still don't know which prize I won because the guy who called insisted on giving all of us a surprise.

But, I found out all the same when my mum and I walk to the ground floor, where coincidently they put up all the winner's picture in a gallery.

and...

our picture was there~!
So as anyone who know me closely would have known, I was totally hyped up about this.
I jumped, squealed (for the millionth time) and called Roxy again.

18 students invited to this ceremony. Because that's the amount of students who won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category- 'Puisi', 'Sajak', Drawing and Photography.
For category drawing and photography, it's split into lower and upper form. So all together 18 students.

All 18 students (including me) turned up. The ceremony starts at 3pm.
My whole family was there to lend me moral support (or that's what they say, I've a sneeky feeling they were there for the free stay and food XD).

The stage

Dad, Mum and Rachel

aunty Kim

Her smile is so cheeky here.
my baby sister <3

I was so nervous.
When they called my name, I felt my heart beat went like a butterfly's wing beat.
gosh, I look short here. Ahhh..my ego.

Kindly ignore my shoes.

Speaking of my shoes, wanna hear a joke?
I totally forgotten to bring my school shoes there. I left it in Melaka. Brilliant of me right?

So I freaked out. Luckily Aunty Kim was there.
She and I walked to KLCC's Bata shoe shop in an attempt to buy new black school shoes. In the end, I didn't buy normal black school shoes, I got another pair that looks like school shoes but is not, so that I can wear it outside as well instead of wearing it only for this ceremony.

hehe
This pair was the weird looking school shoes I wore upstage.

All 18 students.
No wait. There's a guy on my left hand side that's not in this pic.
My wonderful brother cum photographer of the day was such an awesome photographer that he manage to cut out a poor guy in the picture.

So now, as you can see, there's only 17 people in the picture. Including the half body boy on the left.

Oh and my mum's clothes hanger? Yesh, I used my mum's clothes hanger to make the words, 1 M A L A Y S I A.

IT WAS NOT EASY.

and that's the story of how my mum's clothes hanger made us 3K richer.
Of course God helped ;)

Beach Craze

Even though it wasn't the MOST WONDERFUL party ever (mostly because of the indigestible food the boys barbecued) but with the presence of my friends, whom I came to love (and sometimes cannot tahan) it is officially the BEST farewell gathering, for me.

I simply can't believe 1 and a half year went by like that.. I still remember the first time I step into the class, seems like dejavu for form1 to 5 life all over again.
I saw Jojo sitting at the back of the class.. saw Karnee with her twin sitting with Ihsan and the
gang.. saw Ashley and Xin Ying.

EVERYONE is a stranger and I wondered how on earth can I spend 1 and a half years with these strangers.

But then we started talking. And I started liking these strangers.
Ironic, isn't it?

6AB2-ers
Year: 2009

Well, what can I say about our class party?
lots of burnt (chao da) food, sun, salty sea breeze and monkeys.

Yes, monkeys.

Apparently, while we were down by the sea side, burning food, a group of monkeys came by the place where we left extra food and tore open a pack of sausages. So in the end, we feed the monkeys.. I was pretty sure one of them looked like someone I know..haha

3 bloggers
3 sisters
3 awesome girls! XD

I'm gonna miss you guys :'(
I always wonder how it'll be like in 4, 5 years time..
Will we still be in touch?
Will we still laugh like silly girls when talking about our crushes?

I hope we will.
I hope we'll still act like a bunch of crazy girls when we're together :)

Mermaid Found In Malaysia
I'm very sure some of you have received this email saying a mermaid was found in Teluk Bahang, Penang- Malaysia before. And yes, I am fully aware this is old news, but not everyone knows the truth behind. That's why I blog about this.
If you haven't and you want to see how this email is like, leave a message or comment, I'll send it to you.

Anyway, before any Malaysians go around thinking this is so cool that Malaysia has the potential to create mystical creatures and woo them to die on our heavily polluted beautiful beaches.. I should inform my fellow Malaysians that other emails with the same pictures of the mermaid state it is found in Cebu- Philippines, Venda- South Africa or Fort Desoto Beach- Florida (USA).

Oh boo.
Now which one is ture? Where did the mermaid come from Philippines, South Afirca, USA or Malaysia??

Ahh..the mystery. We love it, don't we?

When we get mysterious emails like this, the first thing we do is announce it to everyone in the same room.. and after everyone gets all excited about it and it has become the talk of the day, the next thing we do is click on the 'forward' button and SEND it to every single soul who has a email address in your hotmail/gmail/yahoo account.
Don't worry, I just described myself ;)

SO ANYWAY, I know you guys didn't come to my blog to hear me crap about all these, you came for the pictures. And pictures I shall provide.

Scroll please.

Ta-da!

Zac (cousin): Arial?
Ben (cousin): Dude, if this is Arial, I hate Disney.
Kevin (my brother): Wahh..this freak got ribs. Where's the..umm..female organs?
Tammie: Kev the perv, who says this is a female? And you're the freak.
Kevin and Zac: So this is a....*trying hard grasp the correct word*..BOY??
Tammie: Seeing that this is clearly not human..we can't say it's a boy. Or a girl.
Kevin: But it has ribs! It has to be some kind of human!
Zac: Rabbit ears! <-----RANDOM
Ben: Its YUNA from Final Fantasy! <----Even more random
Tammie: Remind me why I talk to you guys again.

Ok, so the main question is.. is this mermaid real or just a hoax?

After 20 minutes of research on the Internet, the truth came out.

It's a hoax.
Sorry Ben, it's not Yuna either.

But don't get me wrong. Even though this is a hoax, this 'mermaid' is real. The body is real.
This mermaid (name title: O Cruel Sea) is actually a piece of artwork of Juna Cabana.
He has a real gift of making dead and unglamorous looking mermaids. This is not his only creation. He has more then 10 other 'mermaids' that he makes and sells, yes, SELL on his website.

He makes good money by the way, pricing between $1800 to $10,000. The price depends on the size of each creations. Apparently, the longer or bigger the mermaids, the more expensive it is and vice versa.

Now who wants to kiss the beautiful mermaid? XD
Her name?
Nerina.

Don't laugh, this lady is worth $10,000.
And apparently she is sold.
Whoever is willing to pay $10,000 to have a mermind in their house, looking like this, is beyond me.

A smaller mermaid, which is worth $1800.
Sea Myth is it's name.

You guys should really visit his site. Lots of disturbing looking mermaids there to greet you.
But before you leave my blog, here's one last mermaid, named Hai Ho Shang, to bid you good bye:

Boo! Did Hai Ho Shang scare you?
I wonder why does it have a Chinese like name?
It doesn't look Chinese to me..
but then again, they're mermaids ;)

WE WON!!
I've got 1 more paper left.

But I don't care. This is too much for me to keep to myself.

I called Roxy today and I said, 'Guess why I called you?'
'...... because we won?'
'YES!'

I can hear her happy squeal on the other side of the phone ;]
The same one I gave my mum when she broke the news to me too XD

If you still don't understand what I'm going about click HERE.

Yes, this picture won the PNB 1 Malaysia Contest!!

I'm so excited I forgot to eat..lol cuz I'm hungry since sitting in the exam hall just now.

My mum told me the first thing after I got into the car. It's a good thing the windows were up, because I squealed like a really sam pat girl when mum said I won.

Even after all the excitement, I still don't know which place we won.. because the guy who called didn't want to tell my mum. He said if he told everyone, the person who got 3rd place wouldn't want to show up. How oh-so-true.lol.

And at that point I was like, 'What? Show up where?'

My question were answered. Winners have to show up at the ceremony on Dec 17th in KL.

I can't believe there's a ceremony for this. They even said they'll let us have a room in Hotel PNB for that day.
Wow.
O.o

I kinda feel some pressure now.
And umm.. I freaked out just a little bit when mum said they want us to do rehearsal.
Like, WTH? Rehearsals??
and... the venue is in KLCC.

Double O.o

Still, now I shouldn't keep hopes high. Even if I get 3rd place or consolation prize, I'm still so very thankful to God and my team :]
I may have came up with the idea and concept..
but they made it possible
:)

Lol. I emailed my uncles thanking them for the support. One uncle replied this:

He's so funny.
