Tammie says Smile! Hello there, Stranger! Welcome to my humble little blog. The name's Tammie, but friends call me Tam (not 'thumb'). Who am I, you ask? I'm not that smart top-scorer girl in your class. I'm not that pretty lass you always see on the streets either. I am passionate, stubborn and emotional. My absolute most favorite thing to do is hanging out with people I care & love. My passion burns for Jesus & photography. I wish to travel more and see more. This blog was created so I get to jot down my feelings. Happenings in life. That is, if I'm not too lazy to update ;) |

Wo shi hua ren :D
I am no longer a housewife :D Super bad timing, I tell you. But I got a job as a front desk receptionist *yay* I'm itching to tell you guys this, this morning when I went to report in for duty, there's this Korean dude at the receptionist's desk. I barely understand what he was trying to say but I definitely understand his tone. He was swearing. I think. Hey, it's in Korean. How would I know? But it sounds unpleasant. I later found out why he was swearing.. it's because one of his friend, a female golfer, was hit by a golf ball in the face. And she's bleeding. To make matters worse, they can't find a driver to send her to the hospital. It was 8.50am in the morning, mind you. The van driver was on his way, but it still takes him like 30 mins to reach. So of course the Korean dude was unhappy. I tell you, when Korean swears, it sounds like they're singing. Lol. No kidding. My new job enables me to listen to Korean speak Korean *double yay* And I like it. I love listening to them speak Korean. It sounds melodic. So graceful :) Maybe I should pick up Korean as well? XD Oh, another incident happened today. Another Korean dude (this one is older and much calmer) came in to ask if he could use the sauna. Since he can't speak a word of English, he brought along a Korean woman who speaks English but...very limited English.. So guess what's the situation like? 2 Koreans and 3 Malaysians (the staff, including me) communicating in sign language =.= We tried telling them, they can only use the sauna after 5pm.. but the man kept on pointing '4', so we point back '5'. Then suddenly, the Korean lady looked at me and said 'Ni shi hua ren?' or 'You're Chinese?' I was shock. But pleasantly so. (The other 2 staffs are Malay) I quickly communicated with her in mandarin. Her mandarin is much better then her English :) We found out the man point '4' because he wanted to say 4 people wants to go to the sauna. lols. Man, I'm so proud to be able to speak mandarin after that incident XD Anyway, after talking so much, let's stop listening to me talk. Watch this! This 3 year old girl is crying because she says she's in love with Justin Bieber. The back to top? 11 comments |

Family Time :D
Chinese New Year is basically the best time in the year for me. Unlimited flow of good food, ang pows (well, maybe this one is a limited) and laughter! Ah Ma made 'mee sua' on the 2nd day of CNY. And guess what? I found Miss Tiffany!! Yes! Malaysian version~ She is super hot. The camera loves her! She's got the looks, the poise! Wahh.. I hear all the guy's heart beating faster now xD Of course I snapped some pictures for you to admire.. Are you ready? Get some tissues ready, just in case you get a nose bleed *ta-da* Ain't I just love how I had major fun with cousins. Hair flying, mind blowing xD Death defying yoga stunt! As overrated as it is, we just love jumping. The Tan's and Siew's. I messed up this family picture. Timer was set to 2 seconds, me ran..but couldn't make it in time. major swt =.=" Sadly, this is the last CNY I get to spend with Kath.. she's going to be a Mrs. Chan next year :'( I'm looking forward to extra ang pows next year. I don't care, you can't go to Australia next CNY >.< I kill you! I kill you! =P back to top? 8 comments |

Garlic Love
All the best, Jeremy!Jeremy, my primary school friend asked me to make a garlic couple for him. He wanted to get back with his ex and he saw my garlic pictures. So yesterday night on msn, he was suddenly asked me if I can finish making the garlics by 12noon today. It was such a short notice! But I wanted to help out. The problem was, there's no garlic at home. haha.. So after some discussing, he said he'll come by today and bring me to shop for the 'suitable' garlics needed. I haven't seen Jeremy in a loooong time. 3 years maybe. Anyway, we were rushing around in the shopping mall finding : 1. Garlics. 2. Marker Pen. 3. Ribbon. It's funny how meeting up with my old school friend is not at a mamak stall or some cafe sipping drinks and talking but at a shopping mall running all over the place finding the right stuff needed to make 2 cute little garlics. We were running because we're short of time. His date with the girl is at 12.30 noon and it's 10am when we shopped. It took me around 20minutes to draw faces on each garlics and tie the ribbon. Jeremy took out a heart shape box to put in the garlics. I was like 'awwwwwww...' when I saw the garlics in the box. But I was wondering.. how would the girl react? Would she like it? Would she think it's weird? lol. I don't know.. I just hope that the outcome will be a good one. Tell me, how would you react if someone gave you a pair of garlics as a gift? xD Be honest with me.. I wanna know :P back to top? 12 comments |

V day + CNY
I got a garlic offer today. Remember my garlics? Yeah, one of my friend offered to buy it from me. I was seriously flatted anyone would want the garlics I draw as a sort-of Valentine's gift :D *happy* *flattered* * pleasantly surprised* I told my friend 'Don't put the garlics anywhere near water source or in direct sunlight, or else your garlic couple will turn into plants.' :) I also found out that a close friend just started into a relationship. Since I know both the boy (childhood friend) and the girl (secondary school friend). It makes me see the relationship as a even sweeter one <3 14th Feb is on it's way to planet earth. You call it Valentine's day, I call it Chinese New Year ;) V day and CNY falls on the same day this year. And I see some facebook statues going "WHY??WHY DOES VALENTINE'S DAY HAVE TO FALL ON 1st DAY OF CHINESE NEW YEAR??' I can only smile. Make the right choice this 14th. I don't know what the 'right' choice for you is..but I know one thing. For every other year, Valentine's Day is still on 14th Feb. But not Chinese New Year. Every other year, Valentine's Day can be book for your bf/gf. But this year, why not reserve it for family? After all, crushes and relationships crash and burn. But not family ties. Shoot. Am I sounding like a mother? XD Kidding. But seriously. Don't ditch family. lol. *grins* back to top? 4 comments |

Sometimes..
Sometimes, I just wish I can crap in all my blog post.I want to be random. I want to blog about stuff that are in my head. One at a time. So many thoughts are just begging to be typed out. Sometimes, I envy those who can blog about their emotions freely. Notice my blog is no longer my sweet escape *weak smile* Isn't that what blogs are for? But I've to be considerate. People are reading. Have to remind myself not to act stupid. Not to blog about things only I understand. Not to bore people with my blabbering. But here I am blabbering, aren't I? I'll let myself be vulnerable this once. So I understand if you want to stop reading and close this tab :) Sometimes, I love listening to music that have a way deeper meaning that I can grasp. Like Switchfoot. I'm addicted to Hello Hurricane & Sing It Out. Whispering the lyrics along makes me feel comforted. Even if I don't understand the depth of the song. It just makes me feel better. So what if I like listening to emo songs? No idea why. PMS, maybe. Sometimes, I just wish I don't need to please everyone. I'm being random. Please don't take this to the heart. Sometimes, I wish we could all skip to unimportant parts in life. And just fast forward to the important ones. But realizing that, I'll probably skip every second of mine. And go straight to heaven. I'm not suicidal, don't worry *grins* Sometimes, I ignore people I care about. Because it pains me to care too much. To find out news about them and to be disappointed. Or to learn how well they are doing without you. Sometimes, I just wish I can shut up and carry on with life. Stop being a whiny kid and man up (as Jess puts it). We need change. Humans do. *random* Rawr <3 Year of the Tiger. Thinking about CNY makes me smile all over again :D I miss Roxy. I miss Rowei. I miss Yinnie. I miss Kath. I miss Jared Jablonsky. I miss Shyang. I miss Enoch. I miss Dorcas. I can't wait to see you guys again :X Sorry guys, I hide the comments section. Don't feel like having comments for this post * apologetic* back to top? 0 comments |

Left4Dead Hokkien version
My baby 500D has a new *tear* lol. Canon 550D is out. I knew I'd come to dread this day. The day when Canon welcomes a new family member. A much better, more advance family member. I mean, I've read forums where owners of 450D and 400D say they kinda regretted not waiting until 500D comes out and get 500D instead. Now it's my turn.lol. But I shall not regret. I won't ;) Anyway, enough of this crap. I think only I understand what I'm typing..haha xD I found these seriously hilarious Hokkien voice over videos on Youtube. This one is Left4Dead Hokkien version: The video is quite noisy and contains some vulgar words. But I can't stop laughing when I hear the black guy speaking Hokkien~ HAHAHAHA! Actually, Alex intro this to me xD thanks! Star Wars Hokkien Version: Listen carefully, I laughed til I cried. I just find it so funny. The way Darth Vader said "I am your father" in Hokkien. I'm guessing Singaporeans made these videos. There's one for For those who don't understand Hokkien- Sorry! >< I'll find some other vids for you guys ;) Enjoy! back to top? 4 comments |

Why me and my sister have a 12 year age gap.
For those who know me, my sister and I are 12 years apart. I'm 19 and she's 8. The reason why me and my sis has this huge age gap is because I always wanted a sister. Well in all honesty, I wanted a pony first. I'm serious. I love horses. It's not a coincidence that I'm also born in the year of the horse :) So yeah, I begged for a pony. It seems ridiculous now but, hey, I was 9. And all 9 year old girls like me would want a pony. It's like a phase we go through. So I had the I-WANT-A-PONY attitude until I realize that's never going to happen. Sadly, I found out that to keep a pony 1. We need a large area for it to run and keep healthy. And uhm..the garden outside my house is only enough to fit 2 rabbits. 2. I also realize that it's virtually impossible for my dad to buy a pony. Uhh.. 'cause they don't sell ponies in Pasar Malam like they sell hamsters.. 3. And even if they do sell ponies in Pasar Malam, it's going to cost a bomb. That was just a guess. I was 9 years old then. So now, being 19 and having access to the internet, I google 'how much does a pony cost' WikiAnswers said $900000. Man, I was smart at 9. lol. So slowly my 'I-WANT-A-PONY' dream faded. And I started wanting a baby to play with at home. I have plenty of baby cousins but they had their own homes.. So.. I pester my mum. Again. I suspect by this time, my parents just want me to shut up so they gave in. Haha! I'm kidding, Rachel! Actually the truth is, I did pester them for another sister. But I guess they didn't take me seriously at first. Just like my pony dream. They think it's another phase their crazy daughter is going through. I was 11 by then. And one hack of a persistent girl. Since I never got the pony I wanted, I am even more determined to get a baby sister. Slowly, I can see they started to consider my request. I mean, 1. A baby doesn't cost $900000 for them. 2. They can make me shut up. 3. They actually think about the future, when both me and my brother have both gone out to work or study, there's still a kid left at home for them to So when I turned 12, I got a baby sister. And that's the story of why me and my sister have a 12 year age gap. 'cause of my and my crazy dream xD She's still the best thing that's ever happed to me. my baby sister. back to top? 11 comments |

Not so identical
Every time we say the word 'twin' we think of 2 people who share the same looks and height. But what if, we think a little bit further? btw, this post is dedicated to Karnee and her tiwn xD What if, say, a pair of twins is of different race? Yeah, like one twin is a white and the other is a black? I'm not stupid. I took biology in form6. I know how genetics work. It's possible to have a pair of black and white twins! Meet: Remee(left) and Kian Horder(right) with mummy, Kylie and daddy, Remi Horder. Both Kylie and Remi are of mixed race, with black fathers and white mothers. Layton (right) and Kaydon Richardson (left), Boys with mom, Kerry Richardson. Kerry is of mixed race, with Nigerian and English heritage, while the father is white. Hayleigh(with mum) and Lauren Durrant (with dad) Now this family is amazing, not only do they have 1 pair of different color skinned twins, they have another pair. See the babies the girls are holding? That's their newborn sisters, who are also like them, black and white. Leah (carried by Hayleigh, in pink) and Miya Durrant (carried by Lauren, in white) Same girls as above. one big colorful family :) But of course there's a formula to creating such unique pair of twins. 1. If you didn't notice, all the parents of these twins are 1 black and 1 white. Or like Remee and Kian Horder both their parents are mix parentage of black and white heritage. 2. The egg and sperm's DNA must be in 1 color only (eg: black or white) If a woman is of mixed race, her eggs will usually contain a mixture of genes coding for both black and white skin. Similarly, a man of mixed race will have a variety of different genes in his sperm. When these eggs and sperm come together, they will create a baby of mixed race. But, very occasionally, the egg or sperm might contain genes coding for one skin colour. If both the egg and sperm contain all white genes, the baby will be white. And if both contain just the versions necessary for black skin, the baby will be black. Yeah, this explanation is very bio-ish. But if you are really curious of how black and white twins are created, that's the explanation. See, the Asian version would be Indian and Chinese, I suppose. But no Asian versions yet. I really find this news amazing. I mean, who'd thought twins could share different skin color yet be called twins? Oxymoron isn't it? But with these few cases around the world, proves it's possible ;) back to top? 12 comments |
